In early conversations with Jeff, we knew he was motivated and ready for change. He had some common symptoms (lethargic/low in energy, frustrated, etc.) of someone who didn't have a consistent exercise or nutrition routine. That all changed and changed rather quickly! Jeff lost 13 lbs of pure Fat in his first month with TFW! He is down a total of 40+ lbs on the Scale since making changes for a healthier lifestyle! TFW: What is your favorite Exercise?
Jeff: I really enjoy using the TRX bands. They can be used for so much!
TFW: What led you to sign up for the 8 Week Transformation?
Jeff: I knew I needed to make a change in my life. I am 43 and this is a time of life where you either make it or everything begins to fall apart, mentally and physically. My neighbor, Wes, encouraged me to check out TFW and I am glad I took that first step. At the time of joining, I was at my highest weight (285 lbs), was lethargic, had no stamina and no drive. It was pathetic because I knew that is not who I am meant to be. God created me to be something more than that.
TFW: Describe your early experiences at a TFW Group Training?
Jeff: Pure exhaustion! I never have done a chin up in my life until joining TFW. The first time at the dojo, we were doing chin ups. I’m thinking to myself, “You got to be kidding me?” I probably still have that look on my face when we have to do chin ups! However, at the beginning, one thing I noticed is how quickly everyone encouraged me to go farther, including Adam, Jake and Colin. Adam, Jake, and Colin are the real deal. Thank you.
TFW: Now at the end of the 8 Week Transformation, what will you take away from this experience?
Jeff: I want to be able to give the same to others, encouraging others to go farther and to empower my TFW friends to reach their goals! For me, TFW is now a part of my life. I wake up every morning excited to experience TFW at the dojo with my TFW friends and coaches. I hope I can encourage you to go the distance! You have for me!
TFW: What advice would you give to someone looking to start a journey towards a healthier lifestyle?
Jeff: I have encouraged others to join since beginning myself. My advice that I have given them is this: Are you tired of going through the motions at the gym you are at? I was. I would go into a gym, run on the treadmill for 10 minutes, go bust out a few bench reps, go get a drink and call it a day. TFW will give you a whole new outlook on life. You will be stronger physically, emotionally and mentally. By faithfully being a part of TFW, you will see in no time the life changes that are occurring right before your very eyes! You will have more drive, more energy and more stamina like you never did before!
TFW: What was your greatest accomplishment, either physically or mentally during the 8 Week Transformation?
Jeff: I feel I have been able to shed a ton of weight and put on muscle in no time. The practice is a mix of cardio, resistance and weight training. It’s awesome!
TFW: Describe your nutrition prior to starting the 8 week Challenge?
Jeff: I would eat what I wanted. I am originally from Pittsburgh and when we moved here 4 years ago, I was introduced to Sweet Tea. I sure miss the sweet tea! I would eat whatever I felt like and my weight just piled on. I took the easy road and it caught up.
TFW: How did the 8 week Nutrition Challenge help you in reaching your goals?
Jeff: Nutrition is key to a balanced life. I find that when I eat bad, I feel bad. When I eat good, I feel good and feel I can accomplish so much more.
TFW: What nutrition tip(s) would you give someone that is looking to make a lifestyle change?
Jeff: Stay consistent. When you do have a cheat meal, don’t turn it into a cheat week because it will be hard to recover and most likely you will continue to follow that unwanted road.
TFW: What do you want to accomplish next (Goal can be physical, mental, nutrition based, etc.)?
Jeff: I want to strengthen my meal plans. I have not done meal prep consistently and need to do that. I also want to shed fat while gaining more muscle. I truly believe that if I do those things, the mental, emotional and the drive will only increase.
